Setting Politics Aside
2008 Annual Report
The theme of the RAND Corporation's 2008 Annual Report is “Setting Politics Aside.” Examples of recent research in such areas as veterans health, piracy and terrorism, education, and transportation exemplify how RAND, with policy research roots in the scientific method and a commitment to service in the public interest, has to set politics aside.
In the United States and around the world, clients, donors, and supporters look to us for objective policy analysis. Through our work, we hope to offer ideas and answers to policy- and decisionmakers and to elected leaders who often represent opposing constituencies — ideas and answers that might allow them to rise above the fray for the benefit of all.
